Hey why do people think it's not a big deal that republican primary voter turnout was the highest, but democrats was down 20% from 2008? (Seriously, i want to know)
Because Democrat turnout is always low for primary voting and mid-term elections. It is a rule of thumb.
Republicans came out in droves because they are loyal voters and they're pissed off at their party or hate Donald Trump. Republicans have a lot of reasons to vote, as their party hasn't accomplished anything in a very long time and it can hardly be said that they've even come to work in the past eight years.
Think about it, every major policy piece passed during the Obama Administration was not influenced by the GOP because they refused to even talk about stuff and the Republican senate leader himself said their primary goal was to stop the president from enacting an agenda. They failed worse than anyone could have imagined and Obama has had a very successful presidency despite having the worse do-nothing Congress since the one Truman ran against. They have a lot of reason to vote.
The Democratic primary, however, was determined before it started. Nobody is real excited to vote for HRC in the primary because everybody knew she was the nominee from the beginning.
If there is good weather on Super Tuesday HRC will win by a massive landslide. If there is terrible weather across the US, Trump might be competitive in some of the important states. But Trump is never going to win Ohio, and no Republican has ever become president without Ohio.
