Australian cops are taught to de-escalate situations, american cops only escalate, they start guns drawn and go from there.
Why would anyone be surprised people are shot all the time when cops basically act insane from the get go, random traffic stop "PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM, SHOW ME YOUR LICENSE! I SAID KEEP YOUR HANDS WHEN I CAN SEE THEM!!"
Anyone in their right mind could see that this escalation is going to lead to shit going south now and then.
