First off this is going to be a 3-5 year project to get everything done how I want it since the wife doesn't want me to spend too much money, so I have been doing nickel and dime upgrades so she doesn't notice what I'm putting into it.
Here we go:
1987 mustang gt convertible matching numbers car, from Michigan. A guy I know has owned it since 2002, and he never had the money to fix it up because he is on a fixed income and has 6 vehicles in various states of repair and drive ability.
It was at his friend house in town for sale for $2300.00
I negotiated and got him down to $1,600.00

I have more pics to upload on my progress so far, but photobucket is fighting me tonight for some reason.

Bought cleaning products, oil change and tune up stuff, and brake pads for front and back. Also got some spray paint to just make it one solid color since I am driving it while my truck is in the shop (has been for last 3 weeks!)

Another coat of rattle can goodness, I added sticker on front to hide cracked windshield, lol. I'm only spraying it because I am going to change the doors and trunk lid out before I take it to be professionally done next summer. I hadn't planned on even driving it this year, but screw $500 a week to rent a car when I have one I can drive.

Yesterday I ordered K&N air filter, new headlights for the front end (they are all yellow and drivers side turn signal cover is broken) and a new passenger side mirror glass. I better slow down or the wifey is going to start asking questions.

you could probably find some decent old school cragars for like $100 that would make that thing look pretty clean

yeah, they are the stock 4 lug rims, next summer my plan is to put disc brakes all the way around and changing over to 5 lug rims. I had thought about just sand blasting them, or plasti dipping them for now.

ya probably, I used to love those old cragar ss rims from back in the day.

Put new wipers and a K&N air filter in it today, hoping the headlights and mirror comes in soon.
