When you first login the Message box might display for example

Messages:21 (2 New)

But as soon as you enter the Messages section....the (2 New) goes away even if you haven't read them.

So if you navigate away from the page, even though you still have 2 new unread messages, it no longer displays as (2 New)

I would think until you read those messages they should still be considered "new"

Am I missing something?

Nope, you aren't.

I don't think its a bug as you already noticed these new messages when press the "2 New".
If you didn't read them then it will always be bold'd so you could know they are new.

I hate it because it goes away when ur not paying attention then 2 hours later u like "oh shit I got 2 unread messages" I think it should be displayed all the time until they're opened.

Or... dont be retarded

It works they way it is supposed to.
You should be paying attention when you click ''Messages'' why else would you do it?

And if you haven't opened them, then they will still stay bolded.
