I am in the processes of starting a little eCommerce website for some extra money on the side.. with that being said I don't know the best way to approach the idea.

The website is essentially a shopping cart. pick your items, check out, I ship them to you..

I have background knowledge in HTML5 and other graphic/web tools but not efficient enough to build my own site and have it be secure for payment and things like that. However I can do all the graphics and other graphical aspects.

With that being said is where I would like to ask for some advice.

should I:

A) Pay cash for a website to be built custom for me via free lancer

B ) use a pre-built site such as godaddy or other ecommerce pre-built sites

C) something completely different than A/B that might be better (if there is such thing)

to get something done nicely and in good quality, you should pay a freelancer. we will do exactly what you tell him, but it might not be cheap.

If I wanted to go the pre-built store route, does anyone have any advice for starting out?

To be honest I think it'd be easier to just sell your stuff on existing online stores then.

The chance that you'll find something that exactly fits your requirements is low, and custom-tailoring a premade solution is usually not worth the effort.
