What if we allocated the most school funding to the least privileged areas?
Instead of subsidizing private schools for billions we start to push money into the ghettos and low productivity areas.
Get the best educators to the students who need them the most.
Would this not see better results than funneling billions towards the middle and upper classes who need it far less?
Discuss.

We should definitely strip funds from schools in good areas with high test scores, they don't need an education much. Let's funnel it to the worst areas in the country, this way we can build up their schools, improve their overall education and when they reach a certain point, we can strip funds from their now good schools and funnel it another failing area, it'll work like a chain.

Sending this to Bernie now.

Good areas get high test scores because the schools have more funding and better teachers with smaller class sizes.
I am not talking about test scores here, i am talking about socio economic situation of the district.

Step 1: Abolish private schools altogether.
Step 2: Build an education system that focuses on quality instead of profits.
Step 3: Check again whether certain areas have a high number of poorly educated people, and figure out why this is.

Yeah something along these lines.
Minus the abolishment.

It's about the distribution of public school funding.

http://www.schoolfundingfairness.org/

Quote
Funding levels show wide disparities among states, ranging from a high of $17,331 per pupil in Alaska, to a low of $5,746 in Idaho.

Quote
Fourteen states, including Pennsylvania, North Dakota, and Illinois, are regressive, providing less funding to school districts with higher concentrations of low-income students.

I think education should be a federal system, so that we don't have these huge differences in the educations of different states and counties.
