All disks have certain things that are different. Speed glide fade and turn. The most influential part is still how you throw it but having the right disk for each situation helps elevate your level of play significantly. I usually only bring two disks because its a hassle carrying a disk bag plus itst hotter than hell in mississippi.
There are also different types of plastic that discs are made of. This helps determine how they fly, and how they feel in your hands.
EDIT: I prefer champion plastic, but through a few star plastics. This matters more for drivers IMO, as many mid ranges are similar.
