it is possible. you are correct all pm's are stored in the same sql table (obvious from the id system), however they have an attached user id. generally speaking you would select all pm's from user id (similar to inbox), sorted by time, and the next one would be easy to identify, similar to the previous one. i dont think the issue with the suggestion whether or not its possible, its whether or not it is useful.
personally i wouldn't find any use for it. i respond to pm's i receive, once you reply to a pm you are redirected to the inbox making it easy to select the "next" or "previous" one. its extremely rare ill read a pm and move on to the next without acknowledging it. i nulled my vote as i understand my situation could be unique, lets see what the rest of the community thinks.
thanks for clarifying why it's not an impossible feature, I had no idea, good that it's possible.
Fair enough, it might be a thing I'm doing then, that when I have like 12 pm's unread, sometimes more than one from the same user, I like to circle through before answering all. and some I will mark unread and deal with when I am in a less busy position / not from my phone or anything. Besides, It can be a useful button just to go through previous pm's that has already been responded to aswell. I don't really see any downsides with it, and it's such a small convenience add.
Really appreciate your input/thougts, thanks.
