Probably, but it will have the opposite effect in that it will galvanize further anti EU sentiment with that whole 'Americans coming over ere telling us wot to do!' logic, which they then compare to the EU. If Cameron really wanted to stay in the EU he would distance himself and the government from the debate, because the public hate them. Couple that with the anti EU propaganda circulated by the media, most of our population thinks it's plausible to have free trade agreements with the EU whilst keeping full control of our borders :rofl:
As a result there is a real danger of leaving now, it would be such a disaster. Our economy sucks and our bargaining power with the EU sucks too, anybody that says otherwise isn't worth listening to.
Don't think Cameron realises just how hated he is.
