it's a consent issue , do I get a say in not forking over more of time/life/labor that doesnt result in the threat of violence to my person or property.
You're free to create a health care pool and chip in with your funds along with those who also consent to this and clearly lay out the health policies/benefits of this. Given bureaucracy overhead losses private seems to do better at distribution.
Education board has only existed since carter, and I'd do away with this dept at the federal level and leave edu up to parents and their local communities.
It's not support for classes , rich or for poor, it's one of volunteerism, local control, personal accountability and responsibility and charity that's freely given.
But that isn't the result. Maybe in the 1850's. There are no localities anymore, everything is now connected and one pull in the web shakes the whole thing.
Localism was great when the technology was less developed, but now it is holding us back. There are terrible consequences in your world, and externality is real.
It is rational self-interest to grow organizationally and rationalize universal systems rather than do everything in little disorganized ad hoc groups.
This is the ideal of our Democratic Republic. The Fathers of the country who camped at Valley Forge envisioned a Federal system and they won it and it has been happening since. This is the reality.
We can't turn back time for a handful of paleoconservatives. We have the world itself to contend with.
People aren't less free because they live in organized systems. People are more free in the US than ever. There are more opportunities than ever
