Trying to install this so i can do some single player walkthroughs

i followed the installation guide to the T, but when i click on the 1.13 thing it pops up with corrupt file data and the file is d2data.mpq

when i hit start d2 in the upper right corner it just loads d2in 1.14

anybody had issues with this?

ive tried searching for troubleshooting but not having any luck


i dont know how the d2data.mpq could be corrupt, ive tried several clean installation from downloading the game on bnet

you don't click start d2, you just double click the button of the patch you want to play

you could try copying the d2data.mpq from the cd if you have it, if not then it could be an issue with the new installer, it wouldn't be the first bug this new patch has caused, there are a lot of old programs it's causing compatibility issues with, ironically

Ok, but when i double click the patches it just gives me that corrupt file

unfortunately i dont have the cds anymore, thats why ive been downloading it

would anybody be able to give me a copy of their d2data.mpq so that i could try it?

got it working!

Marieusz was nice enough to send me a few of his mpq files and that worked perfectly

dont know if its because of the new update or what

it is not, he just talking about mods that he and his friends cannot use anymore (LOL)

my d2 is updated and im still using it the saw way I always did

just click start plug-in and not "start d2"

I think it could be, most of us still have our old diablo ii copied d2se folder we use, not many people yet will have installed fresh using the new installer and patch 1.14 so we'll see if this issue arises more frequently over the next few weeks

I'm no expert on this but I know with 1.14 they have changed some of the core files and removed some dll files and relocated that data, so maybe the mpq's are slightly different too and because pulgy/d2se was written for a previous patch it can't read them, luckily the ones I sent you were from my original cd

It could also just have been a unique issue for you with a corrupted install, who knows

but if people do get this issue I have the download links saved if they need the mpq's so just pm me
