As a proponent of mythicism I'm very excited to hear of the possible debate between Bart Ehrman and Robert Price. Ehrman has repeatedly refused to debate Richard Carrier, 'because he's too mean', but has agreed to debate Robert Price, another prominent and well-qualified doubter of the historicity of Jesus.

Mythicists currently tend to be dismissed among the historical community but their arguments are slowly becoming better recognised. I think this debate )If Price performs well) could be a turning point and perhaps repair some of the damage done to myth theory by zeitgeist and uneducated internet atheists parroting it.

Bart Ehrman is one of the most popular Historians who is a proponent of the Historicity of Jesus and is often quoted when trying to argue for it. While I'm disappointed that he refuses to debate Carrier I totally understand why. The guy is a dick personally.

So...

I read a book by Ehrman in a Survey of Catholic History class at a Catholic College while I was younger, he is a good scholar.

The first time I went to college...for Math Teacher...blah lol.

Now this is how you ad hominem. A personal characteristic making their argument invalid.

And it's especially good since it's a religion saying if you aren't part of their religion you can't have a valid opinion of it.

I never made either claim. If I'm going to watch another debate on the historicity of Christ one of my Christian brothers better be involved. Otherwise, it's just darkness fighting darkness.

You know what they say about assuming, right? You just make an ass out of yourself.

Serious question Viv, if you're so convinced that Christianity is fable, why is there a need to constantly invest your time in watching these debates?
