I think most people level in world vs world. I don't know if that's the case anymore. Some level through tomes in pvp, or just level through crafting which can be expensive for a newer player.

The best way to level is to just stay in zones about five levels ahead of you and have fun exploring and getting key points. It also saves you time later for map completion. Gear is free through the dungeon system except for certain types of accessories.

Otherwise the game is pretty straight forward and easy.

A lot of people use meta battle builds as a base to use for their own builds.

if you're new to the game, i would highly recommend you playthrough as a noob and once you're 80 and have gotten full map completion, THEN you should start asking how to play the game the fastest

because once you start trying to do all the content as fast as possible you start to realize that the content is not as groundbreaking as it appeared to be when you were still new to the game
