BJJ honestly sounds gayer than rock-climbing

That's your problem. You can look at your dad and say the same thing but that's your problem.

Lol do I look like I have a father in my life? I've been in and out of juvenile detention and drug rehab since I was 12.

Build your own bouldering wall. You can build a good practice one for like 200$

Have been rock climbing for about 4 years now.
Used to instruct at a local gym in Boston area for about a year.
Mostly boulder and sports climb outdoor. (Never could bring myself to invest enough for trad gear)

Indoor I prefer bouldering over lead/top roping mostly due to the height of the walls being low.

Just recently moved and am very disappointed with how the indoor gyms are (and cost double what they did in Boston). There are some good outdoor spots around 3 hours away, but are all mostly trad. :(

Been doing bouldering since January this year.

Started at something like 5a-5b, doing 6b+ fairly regularly now.

Watching videos is cool, but the interactions in the boulder gym are usually more helpfull. Ask people for advice, be open when they offer it unasked. I've had some real help from total strangers.

Went climbing again today, did a couple of 6b+'s :)
