I'm puzzled. I shopped in nm for a bone shield didn't have any mods
I had it imbued then took shield to hell and had socket quest

Only one socket was placed in it...and yes it was a hell quest.
I had a lvl 9 imbue it
It turned into a lvl 6 shield with fairly good mods
I wander what I did wrong..I make plenty of errors.

socket quest will never give more than 1 socket to rares

needs to get the 2os on imbue

It surely is easier to gamble 2soc shield than imbue. Unless you need eth and rep mods on it..

I think lvl 25 char can gamble nice boneshields for 9-18lvl char.

Like spark said use lvl 25 char to gamble 9-18 lvl shields.
You can use edge bow too to reduce vendor price (make it in something low req like short bow)
