Not even getting the option on control panel. using logitech x-530.

Put in an nvidia 960 gtx. Thinking this may have something to do with it.

Any suggestions? 2 Speakers suck, help would be appreciated.

I hope so lol. It's a motherboard audio driver? Did not know that. From what I've read I honestly think that is the problem.

I'll look it up thanks very much.

Yes I ahve it installed form the HP website. Did it earlier. I don't use an HDMI, use the old school jacks. Only room is for the green one, not black and orange,, this may be a problem. However my old HP wouldn't get surround either. Apparently HP desktops have a problem with surround sound, namely logitech :/. At least from what I've read.

What's your computer model.

Also if you don't have Jacks for green, orange and black then you're out of luck. You might be able to add an audio card that supports 5.1 though.

I figured it out buddy.

Thanks.

For any one else this may help I use an HP desktop.

I had a problem with my older HP desktop for surround sound as well, was a huge pain to get it to work and STOPPEd working after a sys restore and I couldnt get it to work afterwards.. looking online not only are there problems with win 8 surround sound (mostly software conversions if that makes sense), but also HP desktops. This can be annoying.

I installed the driver. Installed it again after a restart. The 5.1 wasnt even an option in control panel sound setting much like my old PC. Now in being fristrated I went to a DELL driver for the same motherboard installed it until the point my system rejected it...

then reinstalled my ENVY 700-410 driver.

Voila.

4 out of 5 speakers + the subwoofer work. Dont care about bothering with the 5th. Hopefully this maintains in-game as it has maintained watching videos..

Dont really care to find out why or how it was olved as long as it works.

There's a wonderful thing called the edit button... Instead of posting a post every 3 minutes, Just edit your last one.
