Wasn't true last generation, so not sure how you can really say that. They made a similar launch blunder to MS with XB1.

If we're gonna look at business, at least MS has been consistently profitable. Sony is a shit tank with all of their garbage acquisitions and failed product lines. I guess you can hope that PS will split off on its own eventually. They are the only profitable part of the company.

Honestly oppinon,
I have bought both of these consoles, as far as hardware they are fairly on par with one another, ps 4 is slightly faster, xb1 slightly better graphics the controller is strictly subjective to what the individual wants. How ever I will say that the ps4 controller touch pad is fairly useless as well is the speaker, the light is nifty though.
Xb1 controller is solid enough but if you have small hands you'll enjoy ps4s better.
Network I honestly have to say I enjoy xbl better partially due to psn now making you pay for there's when it was formerly free and it no longer has the old gen game market atleast when I had mine it didn't.
Xbl just simply suit me better and is now backwards compatible.
Go with what you like, my advice rent them both and go from there.

Except Sony's battery is not removable. So when that battery starts dying in a couple years you're just gonna have to buy a whole new controller.

Cheap good Nyko battery pack and stand for Xbox One. Makes theirs easily better.

Not sure what "issues" you've had, there are no major quality issues with XB1 and the new interface is way better than the previous. I've heard PS4 interface is full of ads do have fun.

i prefer the battery pack with the cable so i can just plug it in and play when the battery goes dead after a few days

no issues with the console here either, and i have had it since release night. prefer the new dashboard as well.
