I use multicast on occasion but I prefer pierce and pillar weather I'm solo or group climbing.

i dont like multi cast when playing a mage.. i rather take the 3 mage abilities.
if your gear isnt too good you should take the 3 mage abilities. so you can kill at least 3 monsters at a time.
multi cast will charge pretty slowly.. well at higher lvls it will be ok

Pierce / pillar both over multi is a much better choice if u're running a mage

if you don't know how to play the game and don't know how to use abilities = use multicast

if you got an idea of how to use abilities vs mob health = use pierce/pillar

i like full salvation alot . i dont see any reason to use damage abilities for solo climbs

nn to heal yourself, just use comfreys and fish

so all in multicast when grouping? or also some in multiheal

multiheal only if you have a really bad group. you want to kill fast to let the monsters deal less dmg to you. a good offense is an amazing defence.
you can also just try both builds in 2 climbs.
all multicast or split between the 3 mage abilities. (or possibly split between pierce and pillar cast if full whistle)
