Anyone know much about TV's

Looking for a 50-60inch, most likely LED Id say, what are some good models? I've always liked LG's tv's, how do these stack up against panasonic, sony etc.

Worth paying extra for 3D?

The samsung tv I bought was a lemon, volume would adjust by itself and extremely delayed remote sensitivity when using its built in apps and features. So I'd say anything but samsung would be wise.
