So I was reading the Economist (would recommend for all you guardian enthusiasts) and came across a bad ass graph. The article showcased the problems in both the supply and demand of houses. Bad tax codes, planning permission issues and a lack of effective policy are central to the issue.

Refugees (and even more economic migrants) welcome oh dear Labour party? Build the houses then. Oh, there isn't enough room because we're a small densely populated island?

...You f**king racist

housing crisis is a lived reality for young people here, not just a lame excuse to deny immigrants safety. we have been completely priced out. maybe if negative gearing is removed there will be mass sale of houses bringing the price down. there is literally no risk in property investment here atm

The Economist is a good read. I read it, The New Republic, and The Atlantic, when I'm doing my light reading.

Nominal prices don't account for inflation changes

Housing crisis is already implied when they aren't all owned by the state and considered a basic human right.
