...while I wish he has talked about this in front of Congress I guess it's better late than never .

On his flight back to Rome the Pope was asked about the situation with Kim Davis and he said that government officials have a human right to conscientious objection if it violates a religious belief .

"Conscientious objection must enter into every juridical structure because it is a right," Francis said.

This sets up an interesting conflict between those who claim gay marriage is a right and those who claim conscientious objection is a human right .

So what say you PaRD , is conscientious objection a fundamental human right ?

She has the right to object, but not to a job. She's not being put in jail for objecting, she's being put away for using her position as an elected official to push religious views.

...conscientious objection and a general objection are not the same . I will assume you disagree with the Pope on this because he is saying she should be free from legal consequences for her action .

conscientious objection is perfectly fine - just resign if you aren't willing to do the job
you don't have the right to obstruct others

...I found it very interesting since I have never heard of conscientious objection proposed as a fundamental human right by a major political or religious spokesman . In this day and age of new rights being claimed left and right this one seems worthy of serious consideration . It also adds a new wrinkle to the disposition of the case against Davis .

Conscientious objection was mostly used for people refusing to go in serious things like war...

For that k.davis, lobotomized by christians evangelists extremists since 2011, the problem is different imo, technically.

Bad thing for this poor lobo-woman that was in first place to get an examplary sentence... 1 year firm isnt right anyway she should have just been fired + symbolic fine or something.
