Atm i have a fishing level of 2
and im using a magical splintered fishing rod with 24 durability (Tier 1)

should i keep fishing lvl3 fish with that rod?
or should i use a different rod or look for higher level fish?

are there any recommendations at what level to use which rod and fish?

I would stick to 1 level above your rank and use the T1 rod until you reach rank 4. When you hit rank 4 use the T2 rod.

salmon should be running upstream soon, get some waders and use 30lb test!

I say use a T2 rod (pine) and fish at level 5

I'm rank 6 and I use a T3 rod (elm) and fish at level 10


This way will be a bit harder... But you will start catching herrings

This is what I do. I'm rank 11 fishing level 15 with T4 rods. It just depends on the reason you fishing. If you are fishing to catch better fish for solo climbs etc do it this way, if your just trying for prof fishing at your current level with the correct tier rods is way faster.
