I learned to swim in the East River in NYC a long time ago and despite the obstacles of freighters , tugboats and the floating refuse I actually became a very good swimmer . To my friends and myself it was our own city version of Huck Finn floating down the Mississippi .

I do a lot of cliff jumping

my record is 3 hour long swim at my gym. Thing that hurt the most was the goggles rubbing my head and the chlorine felt like it was strong enough to turn bodies to ash.

i'm not a fast swimmer but distance doesn't seem to bother me all that much

No pics, but some of my typical spots are easily googled. Lynn Canyon, Malaspina Galleries, Nanaimo Trestle to name a few
