Nope. Gone forever.
Only way is if no one takes the name and the account doesn't expire.
But if it's a good name (OR even account), there's no hope past no one thinking of that name until ya come back.

not true.. character can still be there even if they take name as long as they dont join a game with it.

so yes if after some time the named is deleted you could log into your old character and all the items be there.

On the Extreme rare case though.
It also depends on how common your character name is?

For it to expire on there account and you be able to use it, it would be a 1 in a million chance.
