make daggers .8 seconds instead of 1 second, daggers are small weapons making them easy to stab with; fast. Also make the staffs 1.5 seaconds, staffs are 2hand weapon, it is general rule in rpgs that 2 handed weapons are slower then 1 handed weapons say axes or swords. Staffs are big and cumbersome they should be 1.5.
This is the worst suggestion and explanation ever seen without reading how the game mechanics are, in this game. Out side of all the points that everyone showed you in the 6 pages, here are some facts about your so called logic.
Dagger = smaller = faster... okay, now the problems are... less reach [0-1dmg], versus different armors [0-1 dmg], speed of attack based on armor being worn [0-0.5dmg upto 1 dmg]
Staff [staves] can be used either 1 handed or 2 handed, there goes that theory of yours.
Daggers can be used as defense, thus dealing no damage at all.
Swords have longer reach, also, the balance of the sword can either give it more quickness [hilt heavy = less dmg], more damage [top blade heavy but encumbersome], balanced enough to defend & deal adequate dmg.
Axes come in many sizes, damn some can be thrown, thus the speed can vary between them.
A 2 handed sword can swing faster based on hand placement and also the armor you are weaing, If you swing a 2 handed sword wearing
a robe in real life, you will have less control, even if you have the strength, but, if you wear a 5kg chain armor, you gain control which gives
you more speed... why, simple enough, your center [centre] of gravity is more stable.
A 2 handed spear can be as fast as a Dagger, Sword, Axe as well, depends on the hand placement and types of strikes you are wanting to deliver.
Basically the game has a basic mechanic to dealing dmg and balancing it out compared to other games... so go with it, I thought it would be better to have different damage types. Pierce / Slash / Impact and Crushing, but
again, there is no real point.
