A very basic tip which i myself missed (i blame a brain-lapse of some sort):

Try combining Slayer/Weapon master achievments by changing weapons/monsters and getting them at the same time.

Seriously though
Don't even worry about the APs
It's just a big fucking sugar trail to keep you walking through the game
Either play Guild Wars 2 because you actually enjoy the game "outside of AP farming" or gtfo now before you're too deep and invested to quit
