i dont have GW2. if i prepurchase the expansion, which comes with the base GW2, can i play the base GW2 after i prepurchase?

also, being that i never played GW or GW2, should i try the first one first? the trilogy is only 30 dollars on steam.\

Don't bother with guild wars 1.. you'll be wasting money on it.. very few players play it any more.. if you want to play the whole game solo then go for it but gw 1 and gw 2 are so different
.. the only thing that would benifits you from gw one is some of the storey line introduction which kinda plays into some of the characters in gw 2

but lets be real, most people play gw2 to play dressup online, so knowing the story isn't very important.
