shinkai films are eyecandy max, but they don't have an awful lot of actual animation/movement, so I wouldn't say they're a good example of good animation.
i appreciate ufotable trying something new, but it feels like they're wasting budget on overdetailing unimportant things.
doesn't feel anywhere near the same quality that UBW had.
ubw balanced 2d with particlegasms + all the shiny shit to come out with a coherent end product.
so far god eater, while not -terrible- animation per say, just feels like they blew their time trying to force this unique art style to get a product that isn't as coherent because of poor resource allocation.
