Very little can change unless we continue to rein in providers. It's possible to see unquestionable and undeniable gains on the margins, such as the ACA, but there's still so much more that has to be accomplished.

My surgery for broken jaw was $58,480.57
-Cost for new teeth $15,049 (insurance considered it cosmetic, all out of pocket)
Surgery to set and plate my broken arm was $19,299.49
My half mile ambulance ride was $1,554.06

..i can't find my helicopter bill, but that was somewhere around $20k
Then add all the fun little appointments, blood work, exams, xrays, ultrasounds, etc...

With insurance, I was still out around $7k from my pocket.

Even with insurance, you'll get stuck with some hefty fees.

I took a friend to the ER cuz he slashed both wrists. They sent the bill to my house. 8 hours sobering up in the ER (they wouldn't release an intoxicated minor), and 33 stitches for $144,000.

this cant be true, everybody in states would be bankrupt, insurance rates be so high aswell.with the amount of money americans pay in taxes, including the lotto winnings etc there is no reason you americans should not have universal healthcare. how can canada do it with only 10% of the states population and less money coming in? your government does not spend the money wisely and invest it in projects that they shouldnt be. if pentagons budget was cut 10% you could easily have free health care. so many different lvls of government/power. get rid of some of them and have money for alot more things.
