...praises Islam and bashes Christianity in the same thread ...what a clown .

I think it's time for you to get honest and tell us why they either asked you to leave that local church or at the very least why they asked you to stop spreading disharmony . My guess is that you acted the same way there as you do here , dispensing silly advice no one wanted to hear or perhaps gossiping about your fellow church members .

Personally , I'm betting on the gossip angle , that the pastor or an elder tried to correct your behavior and you left in a huff and have been bashing Christianity ever since .

He constantly lies about experiences(like the fast bashing above), why would you expect him to tell the truth here?

Lutherans, Calvinists, and Methodists all generally observe Lent.

Widow is an idiot and you really shouldn't take his word as gold when it comes to Christian matters as he's about as fake as the day is long.

He has no conviction in Christ you can tell the difference even between his posts and IceMage and ThunderCock who are both very religious and have a conviction in their statements. Widow may have read some books on Christianity but he doesn't really understand it. He has no real grasp of the true meaning of grace or salvation through Jesus Christ. He may recite some Old Testament text that he can google just like everybody else. But he lacks conviction.

...interesting , never really run into any Lutherans . I went to a Lutheran church just once and it was a tad too formal for my liking .

Pretty common in areas populated by Scandinavian and Germanic peoples. Lutherans can be easily as strict in Biblical interpretation as any staunch Catholic. We're actually quite close to each other, with few differences.

...that was the impression I got from my visit , that the formality reminded me of my Catholic days . There may have even been some imagery framed on the walls if I remember correctly but it was 20 years ago .

Nailed on a door if I remember, :D
I was married in a Lutheran church and became a Lutheran(ELCA synod) shortly there after, after taking the adult version of confirmation courses. We even have around 50 Lutheran lady's cook books, one that has jello in every recipe.

I'm a Protestant so we don't follow that tradition but I was curious if you still have them on your forehead .
