Pretty much this. I wish they had just kept it as a movie series instead of making this abortion.

Cell would be cool, I guess. It'd be a change of pace if nothing else, instead of re-hashing freiza, again. While Cell does have saiyan cells, which allow him to become stronger, especially after a loss. He'd still doesn't have the potential that Frieza has, & unless they gave him a huge, random power boost, he'd get stomped. Plus, cell was killed, so they'd have to wish his body back, he'd try to destroy everything, etc. With Frieza they just had to use the old granny-trick, where she brings them back for 24 hours. Albeit, there's some nefarious plot to stop Frieza, or whatever's currrently going on.
