One wants to be a hero to his peers and village
Other wants to be strong and protect his friends and family

DBZ is nostalgic, it's part of my childhood and it's the first Anime I watched growing up. I still enjoy DBZ because of what it means to me, that being said, it's not a great Anime lol. I voted DBZ regardless. Naruto isn't that good, so it wasn't a super difficult decision. Honestly, there are so many shows superior to what you've listed, you guys should branch out a bit. If you want to watch a stretched out Shonen type, even Bleach is better than Naruto.

NOW, that being said. I'm extremely excited for the new DBZ movie and for Super lol. I'll watch every second of it like a giddy little school-girl.

Code Geass was bad and death note was ok, both those shows think they are far cleverer than they are. You have these characters with god like powers who are supposed to be super smart but then everything goes wrong to throw some tragedy into the mix. Problem is they couldn't fuck up that bad with their powers/intellect so you end up with a load of plot holes, the end of death note was the worst but at least they tried to play it out logically, code geass just devolves into rubbish. Rest of list is rather good though, hellsing ultimate ftw
Like when he turns to his friend to demonstrate his power (without actually meaning to do it) fills all the requirements and then tells her to do something horrific? So if we ignore the fact that he should be being careful with this new power what was he expecting to happen? His friend would just be stareing back at him wondering why he would ask something so horrible. Next time if your just fucking around ask her to pick up a cup of tea or something...

Anyway dbz was first and inspired naruto, but naruto is far more refined with a proper story and you don't need to watch the characters shouting at each other with ever raised voices while they charge up
