voted no. the user search is intentionally simple.

if you want your previous customers to be able to find you regardless of your name change, then suggest they add you to their address book: http://forums.d2jsp.org/pm.php?c=13 they can even add a comment as a reminder of who you are.

I think that there should be a more direct system rather than an address book.

How can I search for users? I was talking to a guy in game, and want to message him on here but I cant find a search feature. Thanks.

There is and it works rather well in its basic form but I think it should be improved.
