TL;DR version is written in red.

So, I got this crazy idea when I was thinking about changing my name. Story is, I have been doing many graphic jobs for people during my time on this site. This is not only related to me doing jobs for others but it came to my mind with this situation.
For now, I am still doing the jobs around forum but I am not specifically looking for them in Graphic Request sub-forum. Most of the people who contact me have been my customers in past or just got recommendation from some of the past customers.
Now, I haven't been satisfied with my user name but changing that would put me in situation where these people couldn't find me anymore by name. So, my suggestion is to add a feature to User Search function where it shows both account with one that is currently named and that have had name-change with a side-note to it what was old name and what it was changed to.

I will add graphical representation later on but I think it is self-explanatory anyway.

and if for some reason I've changed my name in order to people won't recognize me, why should they see it?
There's people who change their name for a reason( harassment from other users and so on ), don't think it should be applied.

And to hide from their actions, as well. But sure, reason is legit though.

Well, maybe there could be an option while changing name - do you want to be found by old name and history of your previous names saved or erase all info of old names.

Even if they did something wrong, why should I be able to find them? every user should have the option to reveal himself or not.
For example, a user who Scammer & Locked, paid everything and got unlocked and untagged, meaning he got another chance to fit in the community right?
So he changed his name in order to really start over in our community and with your suggestion I could see that he scammed X time ago by searching his name.
Maybe others will disagree but I don't think it should be applied over this community ( and no I got nothing to hide, my old name was Yakir-sc :) ).

You ignored my response completely but it is okay I guess.

There should be option to reveal yourself IF you want to. So, this is what I am suggesting here.

IT shouldn't be an option at all, why should you know what my previous name?
If I changed it, there's a reason for it and it's not your concern.



That's the point.
