Thoughts?

I hate the New York city legal code, i think its an overbroad joke so there are likely alot of people who dont deserve the warrants out on them.

However this isnt going to be handled on a case-by-case basis they are considering full amnesty to wipe the whole slate clean. Seems like a good financial decision but i doubt it will ever actually happen.

If they have over a million active warrents maybe they should wipe thier police departs clean and hire some people that can read the address on arrest warrants.

There will be people with hundreds of active warrants on them. NYPD is huge but they're understaffed and underfunded. Don't have the manpower to go after all the little ones.

Arresting anyone for fines or by law infractions is absolutely retarded and a waste of time , manpower and money.

In Canada people aren't arrested or thrown in jail for fines... The government just won't re issue drivers licences and stickers for people with outstanding fines .

Easiest solution .

I still have a hard time believing the USA is actually silly enough to throw someone in jail over a 50 dollar dog leash infraction

That doesn't work here... black people are incapable of acquiring ID's.

What the hell does a driver's liscence mean to someone born and raised in NYC?

the people with these warrants likely couldnt afford parking let alone a car. That "enforcement" you're talking about works fine and dandy in low population density areas because having a car is a necessity, in NYC its not even close to a necessity.

So are black people incapable of getting ID's or are they all on welfare (which requires ID)?

You need to get your Republican Fictional Universe in order.

New York City, the one Rudy cleaned up is quickly becoming a joke, it will be a wasteland of crime soon like it was in the 80's.

I think all the warrants that were issued for victimless crimes should be tossed, no victim no crime. So offenses like drug possession, violations of ordinance, traffic offenses and crimes of this nature.
The ones for violence, theft or damage of another person or their property ought to be enforced.

Doing it this way should free up resources needed to pursue actual criminals.
