O Ive seen alot of stats on how "wisconsin is the next to last state in job growth in the mid west for private sector full time positions from 2010-2012"

I live in wisconsin, my fiancee is a special ed teacher (#1 target for the walker regime is teachers which im sure you know), and i work in the private sector and the public sector (kinda) with the prisons. My fiancee simultaneously agrees that her peers are overpaid and that she is underpaid. All of the teachers she works with a comfortable as hell with next to no incentive to work harder. I dont like the across the board nerfs teachers got, but i sure as shit didnt like the across the board boosts teachers got the last 3 decades. The entire teacher compensation system needs to move outside of both lawmakers and teacher's union reps. hands, neither is qualified to accurately assess the system. All in all tho, wisconsin is still an excellent place to live with next to no changes in lifestyle or financial status for anyone i know. My fiancee has been offered a spot on the autism board and teaches 2 summerschool classes, ironically both positions that she wouldnt have gotten pre-Walker because they were positions held a woman who was 68 years old that retired when Walker pulled the benis.

Yes there has to be a better way for grading and rating teachers, good teachers with seniority deserve first crack at a good position but good teachers of all ages deserve a shot as well. There has to be a universal system for certifying teachers. Other positions of importance have certification and re-upping requirements I think the people responsible for our kids education should too. I've always been against tenure based on time served, talk about built in obsolescence.

Yes the biggest problem as i see it is the polarity of the argument. One side fights for lawmakers to mandate the benefits and pay structure, the other for teachers union reps. Both sides dripping with personal bias. There needs to be a qualified third party mediator to take it out of both the govt. and the unions hands. Also the system of 2 scale pay system with years served and education received as the only two driving factors for compensation is insane. Both of those things are important but neither guarantees a good teacher whatsoever.

I would almost put some money on Antonio Villaraigosa +15000 as the long shot if they have a win place or show..I'm not sure about making the campaign signs though..
