Golf being a prime example: Topics: 472//Posts: 5,608 this dates back to Dec 17 2004. Not a big golf following here on jsp, being a forum dedicated to gaming.

I feel, with the amount of gun lovers on the forums, they would love a place to discuss all the different things, policies, laws, guns, ammo, safes, etc.

Would also open up the availability of people interested in gun info to discuss things there.

Not a horrible idea but I doubt it will ever happen. For the simple reason that I think it will lead to users trying to buy & sell guns, ammo parts etc..

Forum rules already state that you can not sell any real items irl for forum gold.

I've always been supportive of this idea as it has been suggested before in the past. There are frequent topics regarding firearms and similar discussion posted in the df. I think a designated sub forum would be a good idea.
