I'm sure you see these posts all the time, I'm sorry for that, I haven't been on Jsp in a long time.

I'm debating on getting gw2, d3 (which was kinda bad last time I played) or PoE.

I liked guild wars 1 but I didn't get to far into end game or clan vs clan pvp as I only knew one other person who played the game so I got tired of playing by myself.

How's the community on the game? Should I expect my experience to mimic gw1 as in ill solo everytime I play?

What are your likes and dislikes?

In GW1 you at least needed a party to step foot out of most towns

In GW2 if you solo everything you'll be A-OK outside of some events and dungeons. 100% map completion by yourself is completely doable.


The community is decent but finding random people to play with can be rough sometimes. Best join an active guild.

I like all the pretty tinsel and wrapping GW2 was delivered in
I dislike that it's not the GW1.5 I was hoping it would be.

I quit gw1 before I could enjoy the end game because I was playing by myself and it got lonely haha not necessarily that I was struggling to quest. And learning a game by yourself can get frustrating

Now when you say it's not gw 1.5 you hoped for, how different is it? Is it relative to d2 to d3? Cause that's a train wreck.

I like grinding quests and monsters as much as the next guy but it kills me that there's no pvp in d3, amongst other things. Iirc in gw1 you actually had to aim skills in pvp. My brother plays forsaken world and it's like wow, as long as you're targeting someone and shoot you'll hit them. I hate that shit.

Well some ranged attacks aren't aimed. They generally don't do as much damage though.
But you can still dodge them. And you can reflect them.

What don't you like about gw2?
Just trying to get an idea of what id be in for if I got it.
When you leave town is it still just you and your party? Or like WoW where everyone is in the same place even out of town

There's no really challenging PvE (then again, almost no MMOs have this)
WvWvW is always going to be pathetic until Arenanet combines a bunch of the servers.

Other than that the game is fairly solid.

Every zone prioritizes people from your server that you chose.
Once that zone is filled, it throws you into overflow servers (servers that are temporarily made because of other full zones)
