For the most part VA is the same as Watts unless you are getting really nit picky and trying to calculated true power, assumed power, and wasted power (watts, va, vars respectively.)
As for a UPS, your computer isn't pulling a constant 850 watts and a UPS is only used to save data and provide a minimum working time to complete tasks. It is not meant for gaming on and such.
