That MetaBattle site is really bad.

It's not that bad, has some decent builds for most situations, good starting point for new people or if you need a decent build.

I'm yet to find a better/easy to use site to be honest, feel free to suggest one?

Go to gw2 wiki and learn the game.
Making builds is super easy.

First build I looked at on that site had vitality gear on a build with lots of healing instead of toughness.

not at all. it's great for giving players an idea of what people are doing to fulfill the roles of their class in each area of the game.

if a player is looking at it as the end-all place to make carbon copies of the build, then it's the player who's bad.

yes you can make builds but making a great build is harder, most these builds are meta for a reason they are the most effective so why would you want to do a dungeon lets say everyday slowly because you think the build is cool? when you can go with meta slam the dungeon in half the time and get more gold per hour?

I generally use the metabattles as a base then adapt the build slightly if possible to suit my play style.

but for new people it can save them alot of gold in pve/wvw by stopping them buying the wrong armour or wasting tokens on it etc
