How much needed though? 3 or 4 frame?

Read through the guide which suggests 4 frames, but is that same for latest patch?

Also, how do you know how many skillers to use before it's better to just go for max/ar/life charms?

Also, how is it possible that you don't need cannot be frozen if you reach 4 frame attack speed? Does the game ignore it so that you maintain 4 frames while frozen? I noticed other people that I melee duel don't seem to have cannot be frozen and it puzzled me.

I think the most important skill level is 38, with some weapons also benefiting from 42 werewolf. If you follow the link in my signature, there's a weapon comparison tab for D2R. You can use that to figure out how much ias and what level werewolf you need.

Also, in LoD, once you got to 4 frame being chilled didn't slow you. But in D2R it does slow you, so you'll need CBF in D2R but not LoD.

This whole guide feels outdated now -- particularly the weapon section.

Ethereal Death Cleaver (EDC) is definitely the standard against which other weapons are measured now.

Most builds will now use EDC with Angelics, a Cham in helm or shield, Gore Riders, Fortitude, Verdungo's, and then some options like Steelrends vs Bloodfists vs Craft gloves, and Cerebus vs a rare pelt (needs 2 Druid/3Fury/2 sockets and 10 fhr to be competitive). FHR comes down to preference and your opponent. For example, if a zealer is using edc againt me, I will stick with 10% FHR. If they're using botdz, I usually go up to 45%.

270%+ enhanced damage on the edc with gores and gelics gets you to 81% ds and 40k+ attack rating. Shape lifer charms are standard here, as you want level 38 Werewolf to hit your breakpoint.

So really you need to beat edc OR just use edc now in D2R.

To compare what can beat EDC in terms of ias/damage per sec, you can use my spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dJNjAE4PI6-Fzaguv9R7ErXNI572LLA9znDPSYRoqsU/edit#gid=1417766750 (weapon comparison tab. there is also a battle simulator tab for other purposes).

Botdz is also still amazing, and can even hit 3 frame now. 4 frame with Fort is still generally better though. But it's more niche to just fury vs fury. You'll want edc and angelics vs zeal.
