For a real-life example, Obama signed a nuclear arms treaty with Russia, and the Senate, which could have held it up had there been opposition to it, ratified it. There is not support from a Republican Senate to make nice with Iran.

Because we trust Russia more? Think of all the treaties that were signed with the Native Indians, They are hardly permanently binding.

Maybe Democrats can get majority before they try to pass silly treaties against the will of the elected representatives of the people.
