Let's assume we're able to successfully get aid to the population of Venezuela. Does this aid address the root causes of their ailments? Arguably not. Does this aid likely postpone their propensity for doing something constructive about their problems that actually does address their ailments? Yes.

I shouldn't have brought up aid. I'm not advocating giving aid to Venezuela. I wouldn't give aid to Venezuela, or anymore or less than any nation having similar problems.

I was trying to highlight ridiculousness of sanctions against those poor people and how laughable the idea is that the state of Venezuela is a national security threat. It just sounds like the same old Iraq-has-WMDs bullshit. Saying the word "aid" seemed to have derailed it epically lol.

Sactioning Venezuela is ridiculous though. They already have enough problems as it is, and these sanctions will only make it worse for the people there.

It's a disgrace how we keep doing this shit to countries only because they don't bow to our capitalist imperialism. Just let them run their country their way.
