Yeah, IDK. I understand the brain will have some function for up to 30 minutes after being removed from the body.

Article kind of contradicts that stuff with modern, non-anecdotal science at the end. Interesting though. Since pain is purely psychological I imagine if you were to remain conscious for a few brief seconds it would be excruciating.

30 minutes is what I heard but 30 seconds looks more accurate.

Modern biological science says that it is one to two seconds due to the instant massive deflation of blood instant deprivation of oxygen it entails.

But I'm sure that there was no sensationalism involved in the reporting of events two to three hundred years ago during the most dramatic revolution in human history.

I'm inclined to attest to the sensationalist version considering our difference in consciousness after death.

Around 7-11 seconds after oxygen is cut off to the brain you lose consciousness. You're not technically dead until about a minute later when lower brain functions shut down. Some scientists believe 2 seconds due to loss of blood pressure.

But yea... 30 minutes is not possible. Even 3 minutes is not possible to still be conscious.

Still... that 11 seconds must be agonising and horrific.
