i recently bought a new mouse, after about a weeks usage it started to stutter really bad

this is the result after moving my mouse horizontal

as you can see they're definitely not straight lines even though i move my mouse in a completely straight line, i've tried plugging in/out and reinstalling drivers and messing with settings, the faster the mouse is the messier it gets

has anyone had issues like this before? i'm considering sending the mouse back to get a entierly new one

Are you sure you did it dead straight? its pretty hard to freehand a dead straight line, but i would check the performance in games and media and see if you have issues, if so i would check to see if the laser is clean and then if it persists take it back.

i'm definitely sure i did a dead straight line, i've tried with another mouse before without any issues at all, which makes me think my mouse has messed up somehow

also checked the laser which seems clean too

Control Panel --> Hardware --> Mouse --> Pointer Options --> "Enhance Pointer Precision" - this enabled? If not, tick the box.
