except that Mengele worked at a concentration camp and abused its' denizens for his sick experiments, whereas German rocket scientists were well... rocket scientists.
tho Von Braun was of course a member (a somewhat honourary member) of the SS as well, which is rather shady.. but his position might've also been a one of prestige rather than one dedicated to the eradication of people.
he was really a rocketeer at heart, especially seeing that he drew much influence from Tsiolkovsky, and most definitely not a mass murderer and a torturer like the Japanese (even the ones that were left off the hook) and German war criminals were.
as far as weapons technology goes - well - probs not designed out of ideological conviction or the desire to kill anyone by the designers. science and technology are blind beasts.
vengeance weapons they might be, but it's not the vengeance of the designers.
