I think Colin Powell would have been a modern day Eisenhower if he would have ran in 1996. Brilliant man who cares more about getting the job done right than anything else. Will change his mind if it's better for the country to do so. Tried to get a Security Council Resolution on Iraq not because he thought the invasion was the right thing to do but because he knew it was going to happen anyway and he'd rather serve his country than divide it by resigning in the middle of a war and directly prior to another one.
World would really be different now if he was president.
Military men don't question orders, they give their opinion if asked then follow orders. Eisenhower is one of greatest presidents in US history and he was exactly like Powell.
...Powell sold out the country by putting race ahead of national interest . As a career military man this makes him unacceptable as a national leader .
