So in General Help a good bit of the community uses this section if they have a general question on how to do something.

Now that is all fine and dandy however we should add a feature to the page for the creator of the topic.

The feature will be an extra bar that simply states if the issue is resolved.
Once the user clicks on the resolved bar then the topic closes automatically.

The main reason why I think this would be a great addition is because I see several people posting the same exact answer the anyother person posted many hours/days later.
In my eyes that is just a +1.
Also for other users with the same issue they could go to the resolved topic and see the fix to their issue in hopes it works for them.

What do you guys think?

Yes.
Though most ppl wouldn't check resolved topics like they don't check stickies either.

Yes for me.

A think a button like the ''Mediator request'' would be absolutely amazing.

Yes, I've been saying people are bumping threads that are days old with a response just like the second post in the thread... It just makes it cluttered...

meh, i get the idea. plenty of TT seekers posting when there are already 6 other posts that resolved the issue.

that being said, there are 4 days worth of posts on page 1. not enough bandwidth to warrant the add imo. it's just too easy of a forum to patrol without this button added

No, sometimes people have more accurate answers to provide. Even if some users are parrots, some people can actually provide more useful information. Also, it prevents needing a new topic if the creator decides they have a follow-up question after they've already selected 'resolved'.
Also, users will never be able to close their own topics, only staff should be able to do this.

I have to agree with this.
It's easy to keep an eye on these topics. If some users are just posting there for their +1 and it's clearly the same answer repeated, you can always report it for spam.
