Finally got back into single digit ranks.

So far, Hunter is my only really hard matchup. Mech mage is pretty hard since I only run one brawl, and Druid can be rough too. I think this screenshot from my deck tracker kind of defines this ladder season for me.

Didn't win the game, but hit level 60 Warrior.

Not doing so well on climbing but hit 300 warrior wins. I've been playing Control Warrior expert, Kitkatz' deck.

I've been getting more familiar with Kitkatz' deck and it's doing well. So far the only match-ups where I have less than 50% winrate are Shaman, which I only played one of, and the mirror match where I'm 2-3 which is basically even. The only match-up that seems downright impossible is Midrange Paladin. No matter how aggressive I am they have Aldor Peacekeepers / Equality and if I play defensive they just out-last me with all those 1/1s in fatigue. Everything else is winnable, but I still don't look forward to Secret Paladin or Face Hunter matches.

This is where I'm stopping today. I wanted to get Rank 5 by the end of the weekend but I have other things I need to get done so Rank 6 will have to do. Next weekend I'm going to try to really push for Legend. From Rank 5 you need to win 25 more games than you lose to get Legend. I've been playing this deck for a day and haven't even been playing all day and I have 10 more wins than losses; so with playing all day next Friday/Saturday/Sunday that could be it.

Did some playing today, trying to get to Rank 5 before the weekend. Didn't go so well. Ended up finishing at Rank 6 with 1 star, which is 1 less than when I started, but ranked down a couple times.

Finally back to Rank 5. When I'm making my Legend push this weekend I am going to try to focus on two things:

1) I just need to play well and get better at the game, I don't need to worry about my rank. If I can play well a good rank will follow.
2) Even if I never get past Rank 5, I got here a good week or so earlier than in previous seasons, so I am improving still.

Recap for how the weekend's grind went.

This was my peak. Which is a new highest rank. I had a pretty bad loss streak this morning, due probably to really bad playing from not taking games seriously. Now, I'm back to rank 6, which was the first time I got knocked out of ranks 5+ since I hit rank 5.

At the moment I'm sitting about about 385 Warrior wins. I guess the goal is still going to be to finish off getting Golden Warrior, but after that I don't know. I crafted this to try out Midrange Paladin but I also got Fel Reaver in a pack so I might try Aggro Druid. The goal after Golden Warrior is nothing except for getting Legend, which is going to involve a lot of practice and probably trying out/learning different decks and watching some pro's.

So here are the things I need to think about in order to stay motivated to push forward next season:

  • I've reached rank 5+ for three consecutive season. I am getting better.
  • I can compete at rank 5+. I got up to rank 4. I'm not just bouncing between 5 and 6.
  • De-ranks will happen. I've seen multi-Legend streamers go from rank 4 to rank 8. It happens, don't get discouraged.
  • Every thing is practice for future ladder climbs. A loss isn't a failure, it's a learning experience.
  • Stay positive. I didn't get Legend this weekend like I hoped to, but I reached a new high rank.

I'm feeling pretty burnt out on this game, but I'm not quitting until I reach Legend. I might not play for the rest of this season though, because I do still have school work to take care of. But I'm going to still play for the rest of today just to see where I can climb to and for practice.

For no reason in particular I felt like finishing the season at rank 5 so I played a couple matches. Got a turn 2 concede against a Paladin. I don't know how bad his hand was but it must have been bad. Right now I'm sitting at 389 Warrior wins. It would be nice to get up to 400 to have a nice, even number but I find it really hard to play ranked matches when I'm not trying to climb and I've had enough of climbing this season. Last season I got about 200 warrior wins, so Golden Warrior will happen next season anyway.

Forgot to take a screenshot of the chest opening, but this was the epic I got. Pretty junk, the two common cards I got weren't any better. Disenchanted them all.

This Mechazod tavern brawl was pretty fun and difficult. I only killed him once out of like 4 or 5 tries.
