Different style, for sure, I did like the use of heavier sounding strings behind his singing on this one but of course it isn't like it was in his prime.

"Atmospheric Sludge Metal" "Post-Rock"

So far this is the clear front runner for my album of the year. Immediately caught my attention, very entertaining stuff, pretty varied, goes from traditional post-rock I've heard quite a bit before to more Spanish guitar-like instrumentals near the end and despite its run time doesn't seem boring or overdrawn, and I listened to it walking so I was pretty focused on it. Honestly might be one of the best post-rock albums I've ever heard, although I don't listen to it very much, and although it doesn't seem like it adds a whole lot more to these genres, it does deliver on execution. Like a combination of Mono and Sunbather (minus the harsh vocals).

Highly recommended.

Oh, also listened to this, Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper by Panda Bear today on my way home.

"Psychedelic Pop"

Honestly much more enjoyable than I expected, having read a ton of shit talking about it. Um, I think it deserves another listen but the track "Mr. Noah" jumped off the page, probably my favorite song of 2015 so far, that song alone might be worth looking into this album for haha.

Gave this one a listen and really like it, actually. "The Blond Beast" was my favorite off of this one, a few lame tracks on it, I remember one near the end and one maybe 4 songs in or something, but overall much better than I expected considering your post haha.

Well i was considering the fact that their earlier stuff is much better. I mean albums such as Those of the unlight or Opus Nocturne.

Anyway, i'll completely change of metal style and post this.



The new Blind Guardian album. Released earlier this month.

Once again, i prefer their Speed metal stuff from the 80s and early 90s. But for a Power Metal album of nowadays, i guess it's not that bad.
